What do ANC, ENC, or open design mean
Are all the abbreviations surrounding wireless headphones making your head spin? Don't worry, we'll explain everything.
ANC is short for Active Noise Cancelling; headphones with this technology eliminate any background noise. Among FIXED earphones, this includes the Buds Pro and Pods Pro.
ENC (closed design)then filters noise during calls so that the other party hears your voice clearly and without interference. ENC is used by the FIXED Buds, Pods, and Nods wireless earphones.
Transparency mode deliberately "lets in" your surroundings when turned on, so you can hear ambient sounds even without removing the earphones. This mode is featured on the FIXED Buds Pro and Pods Pro earphones.
Open designensures natural sound without plugging the ears, so even with the earphones in, you can hear your surroundings, such as cars or people in the city.
Answers to frequently asked questions about wireless in-ear headphones
Do FIXED earphones have active noise cancelling (ANC)?
Yes, active noise cancelling (ANC) can be found in the FIXED Buds Pro and FIXED Pods Pro models.
Are FIXED earphones suitable for sports?
For sports and everyday wear, we primarily recommend the FIXED Buds with interchangeable silicone ear tips in 3 sizes.
What is an RF connection and why is it better than Bluetooth?
A radio-frequency connection allows audio to be transmitted with significantly lower latency than standard Bluetooth. This results in less delay between the action on screen and the sound in the headphones during gaming.
Do FIXED earphones support wireless charging?
Yes, the FIXED Buds Pro and FIXED Pods Pro support wireless charging of the charging case. Other models are charged using a USB-C cable.
What is the difference between open and closed in-ear headphones?
Open headphones naturally allow some ambient sound to reach your ears, so you remain aware of your surroundings while listening. Closed headphones, on the other hand, isolate better from the surrounding environment and provide a more immersive listening experience.
