To bet on the plugs, or rather to reach for the seeds? And how about battery life? Even such questions may occur to you if you are looking for the ideal wireless headphones for yourself. Don't be alone, below you will find a guide to help you make a decision.
We spend more and more time with headphones in our ears - on the bus ride to work, on a walk in the park and while relaxing on the couch. That is why it is important to choose the right ones. But according to which parameters should you decide if you are a layman and you have no idea about specific advantages and technologies yet?
Plugs vs. chips or key decisions
Regardless of which brand you buy wireless headphones from, you will always be faced with a fundamental choice, whether to order the so-called plugs or the buds. As you may have guessed, it is ideal to choose according to what you expect from headphones.
Among the latest FIXED headphones, we recommend, for example, Pods Pro and Buds Pro.
Plugs: when you want to disconnect from the world
You can recognize plug headphones (plugs) by the rubber or foam ear tip. Most manufacturers put replacement tips (for different ear sizes) in the package so that the customer can choose the one that fits his ear best.
A big advantage of high-quality in-ear headphones is that they can perfectly isolate the surrounding noise, so they completely disconnect you from the world and you can focus only on the music. Either the foam plug itself or the ANC technology takes care of blocking the surrounding noise.
You will find ANC (Active Noise Canceling) technology in better earphones. Its task is to block the surrounding traffic and create perfect peace for listening to music. It works on the principle of letting in a second sound of the same frequency, but in the opposite direction. Surrounding sound is suppressed by built-in microphones that create an anti-noise frequency. Our TWS headphones also use this technology.
We therefore recommend plugs to anyone who wants to isolate themselves from the rest of the world as much as possible while listening to music. But choose the size of the plug carefully so that the headphones do not fall out of your ears. The wrong size can have a negative effect on the proper functioning of the ANC.
In addition to ANC, you often come across - for example with our headphones - ENC (Environmental Noise Canceling) technology. Improves sound or communication quality by suppressing ambient noise and hum. This is suitable, for example, for quiet phone calls without disturbing elements.
And what to do if you want to disconnect from the world, but at the same time in some situations you need to hear the surrounding sounds (for example, when communicating with a saleswoman in a store)?
For these purposes, some headphones have a transparency mode function. It works exactly the opposite of ANC technology: the microphones in the headphones let ambient noise through, so when you turn on the transparent mode, you can hear the surroundings without having to take the headphones off your ears. Our TWS headphones also have this mode.
Pecky: when you want to be in touch with your surroundings while listening
While the plugs are terminated with a rubber/foam extension, the ear buds (ear buds) do not have this end. That's why it can't block ambient noise that well, so it doesn't even offer ANC technology.
But if you are more the type of person who likes to be in touch with the world while listening to music , you'll be fine with these.
Did you know that some wireless headphones also have a game mode ? It is intended for players of computer games or mobile games. It is used so that you don't hear the sounds while playing with a delay, but in real time. For example, if you play a shooter, you will hear a gunshot immediately.
Also focus on battery life
Do you listen to music from morning to night and don't have the opportunity to charge your headphones often? Therefore, bet on those that have a long battery life ie. In general, the smaller the headphones, the weaker the battery capacity.
The good news is that you can influence the battery life by the way you use the headphones, for example by adjusting the volume . If the volume is around 50%, it lasts an average of 4-6 hours on a single charge. Each time you put them in the case, the headphones are recharged, and usually the case can handle 3-5 charge cycles.
Did you know that our Buds Pro TWS headphones have a battery life of up to 20 hours?
What else to focus on?
The parameters we mentioned above are the most important when choosing TWS headphones. But be sure to consider these as well:
- charging method (classic or wireless)
- design and size (some prefer small headphones, some larger)
- sound quality
- control method and controls
- automatic pairing function
